Since its redesign two years ago, the Tacoma isn't really a compact pickup any more — mid-size would be more like it. Styled by Hino, Toyota's heavy-truck division, the Tacoma looks properly tough and rides on a full ladder frame. Something different is the 4×2 X-Runner sport truck with a close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox, sport-tuned suspension and 255/45R18 summer performance tires.
